Repairing a Sega GameGear PowerGrip

Finally got round to repairing my powergrip battery pack for the gamegear…

Lots of corrosion from leaked batteries but too useful to be left to die.

So time to tear it down, solder new batteries in and put it back together! 🙂

Also of note the powergrip housed seven batteries instead of the 6 that the gamegear console itself had space for.

what voltage were the replacement batteries you used? most AA batteries are 1.5v so 7 batteries would be too much for the 9v game gear would it not? or does the game gear power board handle that>

they are just normal 1.5v ni-mh aa batteries but there was 7 in the original but the game gear handles it fine.
