I bought a Ulefone Be Touch 2 a few weeks ago and decided to do the update from the manufacturer’s website…

BIG MISTAKE…

There is a bug in this rom that crashes the display driver so it seems your phone is just sat at a black screen doing nothing (it’s not, it’s running happily in the background but can’t output to the display).

So how do we fix this?

We have to get a version of the rom with the right display driver and install it!

Ulefone said windows 7 is the only OS that the update can be done from which is incorrect, i have done this install by using adb driver installer to get the adb drivers working properly in windows 8 and windows 10 (click download now below to get it)

Once that’s done its thing download the rom which works (click download now below to get it )

From Onedrive…

Once the zip file has downloaded (it’s a big file so might take a while to download)

Now turn your phone off and take out the battery and make sure it ISN’T plugged into your computer…

Extract the zip file and go into the folder you unpacked to and double-click SP_Facility_DL_Tool.exe

Click scan then click yes in the box that pops up…

Now plug you phone into the usb (without the battery in) and it will have N/A+com next to the check box…

Unplug your phone from the usb again and click the start button in the software…

Now put the battery into your phone and plug-in the usb again and if things have gone right the software will flash the new (fully working) rom to your phone (this may take about 3 minutes)

Once its done, unplug the usb again and power up your be touch 2 and it will sit at the Ulefone boot screen for a little while (this is normal) then will then boot into phone setup 😀

After booting this rom will connect to ulefone and perform an ota (over the air) update…

While that’s updating go back to your pc and download one more update…

Click download now to download the 29/08/2015 update

(this one hasn’t had a full ota push yet) and copy the .zip file onto a memory card ready to put into your phone…

Once your phone has restarted turn it off and put the memory card in and power it up again once its sat at the home screen click…

settings ->about phone ->wireless update ->

Now click the menu button ( three vertical dots in the top right corner) and click local updates…

Browse to the sd card the where you placed the file and click on it, it will start another update…

Once once that has installed and  restarted your phone that’s it!

You now have the most up-to-date stock firmware available!
